The PTSA would like to invite you to our final event for the year, our first-semester GENERAL MEETING.
Date: Tuesday December 4, 2012
Location: MSB 4227
Time: 5pm-7pm
At the meeting we hope to hear your comments about the Pharmacology and Toxicology courses that you have taken this semester, as well as discuss the changes we are hoping to make to the PTSA Constitution. We will then wrap up the meeting by voting on the proposed changes.
We are proposing a few changes to the constitution; however, these changes cannot come into effect UNLESS they are voted on by you, our student members. We ask that you review the changes we are proposing to the constitution to ensure that you are aware of what they are and what they mean to the future role of the PTSA at UofT. The old and proposed constitutions will be available shortly on our website at ptsa.sa.utoronto.ca as well as our Facebook page at: www. facebook.com/UofTPTSA. Copies of both versions of the constitution will also be available for viewing at the meeting, so you can review it then.
We will have treats and coffee at the meeting and we will also be selling our official PTSA hoodies ($40). After the meeting is over, we’re going to be heading out for an end-of-semester celebration! All are welcome.

We just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone who came out last night to either the Academic Seminar or Games Night or both! We had a great time, and we hope you did too. Remember that we have our General Meeting coming up on December 4th where we will be voting on a modified constitution for the PTSA, so keep an eye out for information about that event!

Hello All!
The PTSA would like to invite you to TWO EVENTS occurring on Wednedsay November 7th. The first event is an Academic Seminar and our keynote speaker is Dr. Peter Wells from our very own Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology here at UofT! For his talk, he’ll be focusing on his work on the roles of oxidative stress and DNA damage and repair in teratogenesis. This is a special opportunity to see some of the great work being done in our department, as well as a chance to get to know a faculty member. We’ll even be providing some FREE pizza and subs for you to enjoy, so come check it out!

The second event is our Games Night! Right after the seminar, we will be walking over to Sidney Smith where we are going to relax, have fun and enjoy MORE FREE FOOD, not to mention have a 50/50 raffle! We will have some board games there, but if there’s one you really want to play, feel free to bring your own as well! Come on out and spend some time with your fellow PharmToxers.

Hey All!
Just to remind all second years taking PCL-designated courses that they can run for one of two Second Year Representative positions on the PTSA Executive. PHOXIE will be in Croft House in UC from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. Elections will be held at 1:00 PM to ensure they’re available to all interested students. Students who are running should be prepared to give a brief 30 second speech.

Hi All!!
We hope you’re having a great first month back at U of T. The PTSA would just like to remind you about a couple of events that are coming up in the next week.
PCL302 Past Test Sales
The PTSA will be selling PCL302 past tests for $7 a package. Each package will include all PCL302 term tests for the school years 2006-2010, as well as the final exam for 2006. We’ll be selling them on Monday September 24th from 2-3 pm and Tuesday September 25th from 9 am-10 am. You can find us in the area between the Medical Sciences Building and the Fitzgerald Building. Turn right as you exit the FG103 classroom and keep going forward until you hit the first exit that leads to the stairs attached to MSB. We will be right outside, please ensure you have exact change to help sales move as smoothly as possible. Thanks for your patience and good luck on the term test! If any of you have questions, feel free to contact us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Reminder to all second years that PHOXIE is going to be this Wednesday, September 26th from 12-2pm at Croft House in UC. We’ll have signs put up around UC to direct you if you can’t find it. Also we’ll have hoodie order forms there, so if you haven’t bought a hoodie yet remember to order one then!!

We have been working to organize activities that will help you to get to know your fellow students more as well as the faculty members of the department,and we encourage you to come out to as many events as you can.

The Pharmacology & Toxicology Students’ Association would like to invite you to our General Meeting and Pub Night. Please join us for an opportunity to voice your opinions about the PTSA and to celebrate the end of the school year. Students from all years of study are welcome to attend.
General Elections
At the end of the General Meeting, your new PTSA executive team will be elected. If you are a student taking a course with a PCL designator and are interested in running in any of the positions listed, please prepare a short 1-min statement for the election. Positions available are as follows: Co-President (2), Internal Vice President, External Vice President, Social Director, Treasurer, Secretary, and Communications Director. For more information on each of these positions, please see the PTSA Constitution.
Students interested in the position of “Co-President” will need to submit a completed Co-Presidency Nomination Form to Phyllis Thawe in the Pharmacology and Toxicology Departmental Office (MS4207) by Monday, April 2, 2012 at noon.
