All-Candidates Meeting and General Elections Update!

Hi All!

As we all know, the end of the semester is fast approaching, and so are our All-Candidates and General Elections Meetings!  We are excited to announce that we have finalized the dates and locations of both events.

The All-Candidates Meeting will be held in MS2394 from 5pm-6pm on April 2nd.  Again, if you were not previously aware, anyone interested in running for a position on the PTSA Executive must either attend this meeting, or send a message to info.ptsa@utoronto.ca detailing which 3 positions they intend to run for.  If they don’t complete this step, they CAN’T run.  If you are interested in running for either of the co-president positions you have to download and complete an official nomination form with fifteen signatures of students in the department of Pharmacology & Toxicology, and submit it by 5pm on March 28.  Forms are available on our website on the General Elections Information page, as previously published.

The General Elections will be taking place in MC254 from 5pm-6pm on April 4th.  If you are running for a position and you can show up in advance of 5pm, PLEASE DO.  We want to make this process run as smoothly as possible.

After all the voting has finished on April 4th, you are all welcome to join us at O’Grady’s Irish Pub on College Street for some free beer!  That’s right – FREE BEER.  Best of luck to you all over these final days of the semester, and we look forward to seeing you next week!

Academic Seminar/ Games Night 2013

Hello everyone

The PTSA would like to invite you to our second Academic seminar/Games night event taking place on the 20th of March. Essentially, we will have two events happening on the same day!

The first event is our academic seminar which will be taking place in MSB4227 from 5-6pm. Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Ruth Ross, the chairperson of our department. She will be introducing us to her research. Her research mainly focuses on Cannabinoids and their potential for therapeutic use. Some of her work is also geared on determining the endogenous ligands for certain orphan GPCRs. It promises to be a very scintillating talk and it will also be a very good opportunity to meet our chairperson. We encourage you to attend.

The second event is our super fun games night which will be taking place in the Fitzgerald building in room 129 from 6-10pm. We will have a wide variety of board games. This is a great opportunity to relax, meet other PharmTox students and have lots of laughs. Feel free to join us at either of the events or both!J

We will have hoodie order forms at both events (PharmTox pride!) and lastly there will be FREE FOOD and POP available throughout the night. Come one, come ALL for a most spectacular night!!

See you there
