Also on Thursday, is our academic seminar and games night for this semester. We’ll be having our guest, Dr. Ameer Taha, give a brief 50 minute talk about his research:
Dr. Ameer Taha is currently a visiting fellow at the NIH and an adjunct assistant professor at the Kinesiology Department of the University of Waterloo. Prior to joining NIH, he was the scientific director of Certo Labs Inc., where he developed Certo’s high throughput technology platform for extracting antibiotics, pesticides and nutrients from food samples. He obtained his PhD from the department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Toronto. His past research focused on pharmacotherapy using omega-3 fatty acids in epilepsy. At NIH, Dr. Taha has been studying the role of brain fatty acid metabolism in neurodegenerative disorders.
Then we’ll get to have some fun for the rest of the night with some board games – food and snacks included! Games night will have an exclusive photobooth session for you and your friends to make some photographic memories.
