Peer Mentor Applications

Hello everyone,

Hope you’ve all enjoyed your summer! The PTSA was already busy planning ahead this summer and would like to introduce to you one of their biggest projects – PTSA Peer Mentorship.

After a successful inaugural year, we are delighted to continue this year-long program and incorporate a few additional elements in hopes of improving it further for the second year. The Peer Mentorship program pairs upper year students (3rd and 4th years), who are our mentors, enrolled in Pharmacology & Toxicology with second year students, our mentees, new to the program. Mentors are given the opportunity to share their experience and knowledge on how they navigated through the Pharmacology & Toxicology program and the larger University in general. They will also participate in workshops aimed at improving the skill set needed to be a great mentor. Of course, there will also be social events for mingling and in hopes of creating a close community within the Mentorship program.

Sound great? We’re opening applications for Peer Mentors for the 2014-2015 year! Read this document to check out some details. If you are interested in becoming a Mentor in this amazing program, please send in your resume to PTSAmentorship@gmail.com as well as fill out a Google Docs application.

The deadline for applications will be Friday, September 12th 2014 at 11:59pm.
If you have any questions, feel free to email PTSAmentorship@gmail.com.

PTSA Course Guide – WIN a $20 Gift Card!

Hey guys!

We hope you’re all having a great summer!

Course selection days are fast approaching, and it can be tricky knowing what to expect from a course based on the Calendar descriptions. This year, the PTSA is releasing an updated Course Commentary/PCL Survival Guide. Please click here and answer a short survey designed to obtain tips on how to do well in PCL courses and enter for a chance to win a $20 Eaton Centre gift card.

The responses from this survey will be published on the PTSA website. The PTSA would greatly appreciate responses from upper year/graduated students as these tips will greatly benefit current and future students in PCL courses.

The PTSA aims to have the Course Commentary available online by July 11, 2014, and would greatly appreciate it if you would respond to this survey a.s.a.p. The raffle winners will be announced on July 9, 2014.
